What's the logical place to start here? Am I looking at getting the cluster sent off?Īlso, the wife is fixated on the key fob. One of the ones that stood out was something along the lines of "engine start is blocked by immobilizer". I had a friend run his VCDS laptop on the car, and I have a file of the codes (below). I've heard of other people with similar problems, for whom it turned out to be a faulty ignition switch. I'm prepared to take the dash apart and send it off, if we're looking at a cost of under £200. One suggested option is to send off the dash (by that I'm guessing he means just the instrument cluster?) to a company that fixes them. He's saying the problem is with the instrument cluster, and the car is basically a write-off. He was very unhelpful, but appreciate he is currently rammed with all the lockdown MOTs that have built up. ![]() Got towed to a garage near my home where it was left for the mechanic to look at. I could start the car fine, but it promptly cut out after 2 seconds. ![]() Got back in, turned the key and none of the dash lights came on (by dash lights I mean the EML light, the glow plug light, ABS, seat belts, that sort of thing). ![]() ![]() Hey everyone, wondering if anyone has had a similar experience I can learn from: drove my 2005 1.9 TDi SE Touran for about 25 minutes a couple days ago, parked up and spent 5 minutes out of the car.
